Kendell has over 20 years of experience servicing clients in the Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Macomb Counties in specialty areas that include Family Law (including Complex Divorce and asset divisions, Child Custody and Support), Real Estate Law (land acquisition and quiet title), Landlord Tenant, Contracts, Probate, and Wills, Trusts, and Estate Planning. Kendell was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and is a 1991 graduate of the prestigious Cass Technical High School. She is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish conferred upon her in 1995. Kendell’s ambition to help others propelled her to graduate from Wayne State University Law School with a Juris Doctorate in 2001. After law school graduation, she immediately went to work as a Staff Trial Attorney for the Legal Aid and Defenders Association in Detroit. Kendell is admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan and the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan. As a public defender from 2001 to 2004, she successfully managed up to 300 + caseloads monthly in the areas of real estate, landlord tenant, probate, benefits law, contracts, and general civil litigation, and gained daily valuable litigation and trial court experience. Kendell incorporated Tucker L Law, PC in 2004 and began serving as Special Counsel to the City Attorney representing the City of Ecorse in real property law, zoning, and easement litigation along with matters involving the Federal Motor Carrier and Safety Act violations and Police Department and Government Immunity in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan through 2006.
With a lifelong spirit of helping others and giving back, Kendell has a stellar record of community service and support. Over the years, she served as a volunteer attorney to advise pro se litigants as part of the Eastern District of Michigan District Court's “Ask the Lawyer” Program sponsored by the Federal Bar Association Pro Bono Committee. Additionally, Kendell has served as a member of the Wayne State University Black Law Alumni Council Faculty Success Committee and currently serves as a committee member for the Minority Recruiter for the University of Michigan Alumni Association's Alumni Student Recruitment Program as well as a mentor for the University of Michigan Black Alumni (UMBA) Mentoring Program.
Kendell attributes her success as a distinguished attorney to her faith and commitment to Jesus Christ. Outside of law, Kendell is a devoted wife and mother. She is blessed to have a wonderful and supportive husband, Eric Tucker, P.E., a civil engineer who manages multidiscipline contracts in various municipalities throughout the Metro-Detroit Area in water, wastewater, design, and management. Kendell and Eric are the proud parents of two sons: Bryce, a graduate of the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor pursuing a medical degree, and Brennen, attends the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. As a family, they enjoy spending quality time together, eating, traveling, and attending concert and sporting events—Go Blue!!
